Indonesia Live – Mercedes GLA, New C Class (both India-bound) Posted: 21 Sep 2014 09:57 AM PDT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia’s third and fourth India-bound models presented at the 2014 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS 2014) are the Mercedes GLA and the Mercedes C Class, targeting the growing group of younger Indonesian customers. Mercedes GLA Mercedes-Benz has started accepting orders for the Mercedes GLA in India and will be launched on the 30th of this month. Rivaling the BMW X1 and Audi Q3, the GLA for Indonesia is powered by the 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with an output of 156 bhp at 5,300 rpm and 250 Nm at 1,250-4,000 rpm. Features on the GLA Class include a panoramic sunroof, ECO Start/Stop, traction and stability control, 7 airbags, ASC, Attention Assist, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and tire pressure loss warning. As for the prices, the Mercedes-Benz GLA 200 Urban is priced at IDR 599 million (INR 30.39 lakhs), while for the Mercedes-Benz GLA 200 Sport is priced at IDR 649 million (INR 32.92 lakhs). Mercedes C Class The new Mercedes C Class has been launched in Indonesia with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 184 bhp with 300 Nm of torque on the C 200 Avantgarde, and the more premium C 250 AMG variant providing 211 bhp with 350 Nm of torque. In these configurations, the C 200 Avantgarde is able to travel 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, while the C 250 AMG is faster, doing it in just 6.6 seconds. The fuel efficiencies are rated at 18.83 km/l and 17.85 km/l, and the CO2 emissions are at 123 g/km and 131 g/km respectively. The C 200 and C 250 are priced at Rp 739 million (INR 37.49 lakhs) and Rp 899 million (INR 45.61 lakhs) respectively.

Mercedes-Benz Indonesia has presented the India-bound Mercedes CLS facelift at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2014 (IIMS 2014). In the CLS 400 AMG trim, the vehicle is identified by the Multibeam LED headlamp, tweaked pockets and the diamond grille. The Multibeam headlamp can detect upcoming bends and illuminate them in advance, while the navigation system can detect roundabouts and instruct the headlight beam to give optimal visibility. Powering the CLS 400 AMG is the 2,996 cc turbocharged, direct injection V6 engine that delivers 333 bhp at 5,250-6,000 rpm and 480 Nm at 1,600-4,000 rpm and with acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds. It is paired to a seven-speed automatic transmission (7G-TRONIC) and has a top speed of 250 km/h. The interior has received very soft changes with a new eight-inch free-standing color display and a new three-spoke steering wheel. Mercedes India sells the CLS in the 250, 350, 400 and 500 trim levels. PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) presented the successor of the Suzuki SX4 (crossover), the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross, at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2014 (IIMS 2014), but without committing to a launch date. SIS officials said they have carried out feasibility studies for the car and will observe the response through the showcasing. Measuring 4.3 m long, 1.76 m wide, 1.58 m tall, and with a wheelbase of 2.6 m, the SX4 S-Cross is powered by 1.6-liter petrol and diesel engines which come in 2WD and 4WD variants. The 1.6-liter petrol engine that has the highest possibility of the local launch, outputs 118 bhp at 6,000 rpm and 156 Nm at 4,400 rpm. It can be had with either a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT. Features on the most expensive S-Cross variant include 7 airbags, ESP, a four-mode driving program, 430 liters of luggage space, 170 mm of ground clearance, 17-inch wheels, panoramic sunroof, projector headlamp and daytime running lamps. PT Mazda Motor Indonesia has launched the automatic variant of the Mazda VX-1 at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2014 (IIMS 2014) to give “comfort and ease of driving” to the Indonesian family. The VX-1 is the badge engineered (Maruti) Suzuki Ertiga, featuring a distinct snout. The VX-1 was launched in May 2013 with a manual transmission, and to accelerate sales, Mazda has included the automatic variant. The MPV is 4.26 m long, 1.69 m wide, 1.68 m tall and has a wheelbase of 2.74 m. The car is assembled by Suzuki Indonesia, and kits come from India. The VX-1 AT is powered by the same 1.4-liter four-cylinder K14B engine equipped with a DOHC, generating 95 PS (93.7 bhp) at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Lexus NX 300h has a total system output of 194 PS. The luxury crossover is powered by a 2.5-litre gasoline engine that runs on the Atkinson cycle which is supplemented by two 650V AC electric motors, one at front and the other at the rear. The total system output stands at 194 PS. The vehicle is equipped with Lexus’ E-Four proactive all-weather driving system in which the front wheels are propelled by the gasoline engine or electric motor or a combination of both, while the rear wheels are powered by the electric motor. The rear wheels would receive power only when the situation demands it, resulting in an enhanced efficiency. When in regenerative braking mode, the rear-mounted motor acts as a generator thereby increasing the amount of kinetic energy recovered. Philippines Live – Honda City Mugen Posted: 21 Sep 2014 03:41 AM PDT The Honda City Mugen prototype which made its global debut earlier this year in Philippines surfaces again, this time at the Philippines International Motor Show 2014 (CAMPI 2014). The Honda City Mugen gets only exterior upgrades. Honda’s performance division has tweaked the car’s exterior to make it look more dynamic. The sedan is finished in the Taffetta White exterior color. The front fascia receives a black Mugen grille and a bumper with a sharp edged skirt. The sides of the car also feature skirts in addition to 17-inch Mugen alloy wheels, Mugen decals on the doors and stripes on the C-pillar. The rear of the Mugen City can be identified by means of an integrated spoiler and an aggressive diffuser. Faux carbon fibre accents to the ORVM housings round off the changes. The Mugen treatment for the interior, powertrain, brakes and suspension would be revealed at a later stage. As of now, the car continues to be powered by the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that generates 120 PS and 145 Nm of torque. The transmission is a 5-speed MT or a CVT. Mazda MX-5 25th Anniversary Edition All 25 units of the Mazda MX-5 (Miata) allotted for the Philippines are already sold out. The MX-5 25th Anniversary Edition, as the name suggests, celebrates the iconic two-seat sportcar’s 25 years of existence. The latest generation has made its global premiere earlier this month. The celebratory edition stands out with a specially crafted interior with “25th Anniversary Edition” logo embossed on the leather seats and door sills. The car also receives red contrast stitching for the seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, gear and hand brake levers, and door pads. The instrument console features a satin chrome finish, and the dashboard has a hand-painted red decoration and with an anniversary badge and serial number.
