There are no changes to the interior or the mechanicals of the car. The Grand i10 in Indonesia is powered by the 1,248 cc four-cylinder Kappa petrol engine which produces 87 PS (85.77 bhp) and 12.2 kgm of torque, as against the Indian model’s 83 PS and 11.6 kgm of torque (India gets the 1,197 cc Kappa engine). | Indonesia Live – Daihatsu SUV-2 concept Posted: 19 Sep 2014 04:24 AM PDT The vehicle gets suicide doors. Apart from showcasing the CUV-2 B-segment SUV concept, Daihatsu also displayed the large SUV-2 concept at the ongoing 2014 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS 2014). The SUV concept previews a full-sized, 3-row SUV, though a market launch of the car has not been announced by the company. In fact, Daihatsu has not given out any information on the concept or what it previews. The concept gets suicide doors, 6-spoke alloy wheels, dual exhausts, dual-barrel headlight clusters and LED turn lights on the wing mirrors. While the interior of the car was locked, its clear to see that the SUV sports seating for a maximum of 7 occupants. Another 7-seat concept car which was showcased by the Japanese maker at the show is the UFC-3 concept previewing a new MPV from the brand. The UFC would likely be positioned below the Daihatsu Xenia. | Indonesia Live – Daihatsu CUV-2 mini SUV concept Posted: 19 Sep 2014 01:54 AM PDT Is an evolution of the CUV Concept. The Daihatsu CUV-2 Concept is being showcased at the 2014 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS 2014). The CUV-2 (Crossover Utility Vehicle) is a follow up to the CUV concept shown at the previous edition of IIMS. When it finally enters production, the car will rival the likes of the Ford EcoSport and Nissan Juke. Reports say that when the car finally reaches production, it will rival the Ford EcoSport, Nissan Juke and Hyundai ix25 to name a few. However, the company has not spoken about the launch timeframe of the car. The Japanese carmaker did not disclose any details pertaining to the CUV-2. However, its easy to see that the design of the concept is an evolution from last year’s CUV concept. Where the CUV got rear hinged doors, the CUV-2 gets more realistic conventional doors. Apart from the CUV-2, Daihatsu also showcased the UFC-3 concept (an MPV that would slot below the Xenia) and a large SUV concept at this year’s IIMS. | Indonesia Live – Daihatsu UFC-3 MPV concept Posted: 19 Sep 2014 01:36 AM PDT Could slot below the Xenia. Daihatsu showcased the UFC-3 MPV concept at the ongoing 2014 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS 2014). The UFC-3 is a further development of the UFC-2 concept which was shown at last year’s edition of the show. Compared to its predecessor, the UFC-3 (Ultra Function Compact) looks more production ready, and its not hard to imagine the MPV with production lights and bumpers. Local media reports say that the UFC-3 could be introduced as a model below the Daihatsu Xenia (Toyota Avanza). The Xenia/Avanza, which compete in the Mobilio’s class of Low-MPV (LMPV) vehicles in Indonesia, are volume sellers for their respective brands, and the Avanza is the current leader in its segment. The UFC-3 would be cheaper than the Xenia, going by the report. If the UFC-3 were to take advantage of Indonesia’s LCGC (Low cost Green Car) program which exempts the vehicle from certain taxes, the engine capacity will be under 1,200 cc. The company did not disclose technical details on the UFC-3. However, officials are reported to have said that the MPV will enter production sometime next year. If positioned below the Xenia, competition for the UFC-3 will come mainly from the Datsun Go+ MPV, which was also on display at IIMS with a sporty body kit.
