Former Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos sentenced to 2 weeks in prison, $9,500 fine for lying to FBI about Russia election ‘dirt’

  Papadopoulos is the first former Trump aide to be sentenced in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation of Moscow's interference in the 2016 election. Ahead of the sentencing, Papadopoulos' lawyer Thomas Breen argued for leniency for his client, suggesting that Trump had "hindered" the investigation more than Papadopoulos ever did.
