New York’s Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 29, becomes the youngest woman elected to Congress, AP reports

  Ocasio-Cortez, a New York activist, cruised to victory, according to the Associated Press. She had little resistance in a heavily Democratic district after scoring the primary season's biggest upset with the defeat of Rep. Joe Crowley, the fourth-ranking House Democrat. She turned 29 in October.
