Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (4) poses with wide receiver Amari Cooper (19) and the Fox NFL football trophy after the win over the Washington Redskins at AT&T Stadium.
Welcome to Week 12: Our experts' picks, our best columns and much, much more
Burning questions, updated fantasy football advice and more essentials heading toward Sunday's Week 12 action.

There was a time when the Dallas Cowboys were openly ridiculed for acquiring wide receiver Amari Cooper.

That time has passed.

Cooper and the Cowboys offense was on point Thursday. Dallas rolled to a 31-23 win against the Redskins, taking over first place in the NFC East in the process. Cooper finished with eight catches, 180 yards, and two scores. The Cowboys are 3-1 since trading for the wide receiver.

Drew Brees and the Saints stayed hot with a 31-17 win over the Falcons. Brees finished with under 200 yards passing for the just the second time this season and threw his second interception of the year, but he countered with four TD passes to four different receivers. New Orleans moved into position for the top seed in the NFC thanks to its head-to-head-win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Elsewhere, Matthew Stafford fell apart late, paving the way for a 23-16 Bears victory. Chase Daniel, who started at quarterback in place of Mitchell Trubisky, finished 27 of 37 for 230 yards and two touchdowns.

With a big slate of games remaining, the Seahawks and Panthers look to be Sunday afternoon's marquee matchup while you wait for the Packers and Vikings to decide who's going to remain relevant in the NFC North on Sunday evening. Monday brings you the sneaky-good Titans and, well, the sneaky-good Texans.

Here's your essentials for Week 12:
