Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project has documented a claim against the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan, and Speaker of House of Representatives, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, over "their inability to distribute reports of all finished formal reviews and defilement tests by the National Assembly since 1999, and inability to unveil the quantity of tests that have brought about an arraignment of suspects, and to name such suspects."
The suit followed ongoing formal conferences by the National Assembly on defilement charges in services, divisions, and offices, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, and Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund.
"Reports of a few formal conferences and defilement tests have stayed mystery, and the charges uncertain," SERAP claimed.
In the suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/1065/2020 recorded at the Federal High Court, Abuja, SERAP is looking for "a request for mandamus to coordinate and propel Dr Lawal and Mr Gbajabiamila to send all reports of finished formal reviews and defilement tests to fitting enemy of debasement offices to consider if there is adequate permissible proof to seek after arraignment.
