The Nigerien President, Mohammed Bazoum, on Saturday called the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on the phone to sympathize with him on the Friday plane accident in Kaduna that killed Lt. Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, the Chief of Army Staff and 10 others.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, unveiled this on Sunday in an articulation titled 'Niger Republic's chief, Bazoum, calls to mourn with President Muhammadu Buhari over loss of the countries Chief of Army.'
Shehu cited the Nigerien President as portraying the plane accident as disastrous and lamentable.
The assertion read, "President Mohamed Bazoum, the head of Nigeria's northern neighbor, Niger Republic, on Saturday called President Muhammadu Buhari to support him just as the public authority and individuals of Nigeria following the plane accident on Friday that killed Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru, the Chief of Army Staff, alongside 10 other military officials.
"President Bazoum, who portrayed the plane accident and the resultant passings as awful and disastrous, communicated the sympathies of the public authority and individuals of his country.
"He implored the Almighty Allah to rest the spirits of the deceased and award guts to their families, friends and the whole country to bear the misfortunes.
"President Buhari praised Bazoum for a portion of this moment of sorrow to Nigerians and guaranteed him that the motion was very much noted.
"He communicated the country's gratitude and appreciation for the penances of the departed military men and guaranteed that the country won't allow their families down."
